WOW a year has past!

Chinky has learnt so much. He went back to the Wlsh Show and did really well. He has also been out and about doing PONY dressage. The pics tell the story.

Chinky went to the 2009 All Welsh show. He got second in his Height class and second in the Hunter class. The 8yo led him in the junior handler for fourth and the 10 yo led him in the older unassisted handler for second. There was stiff competition in all classes so it was a good day. The extreme heat meant we cut things short as we were going to camp over, but heat, blood noses and a pony with a puffy fly eye convinced us otherwise! We will go back next year and concentrate on the Ridden classes on the Sunday. The girls were a bit dissapointed as that meant they missed the fancy dress. Chinky was to be a ballerina and Nelson a Hippie. Oh well next time.....................

Handy Horse

Chinky took Katie through the Handy Horse at riding club today. They did the bridge, walked over the tarp, through cones. gates and much more. This pony was fantastic and everyone commented on how sensible he was.

Chinky goes to a show.....

Chinky and I went to an Arab show. He was entered in a couple of led classes. He did well, although not placing he behaved well and was in good company. I think his puffy gullet is going to go against him but that is fine. I loaded him by myself and a lovley girl in the float next to me took some photos for me. So all in all it was a good outing. Although I took a bit of a detour and got a bit lost, that really added to the 11/2 hour travel time!

Riding Club....

This was Chinky's 13th ride. He went to riding club with the 8 year old. They played letter box drop, flag and barrel, bending, jumping and rider exercises. 8yo was super pleased as this pony did not put a foot wrong, he even liked the 44 gallon drums, they reminded him of food.

The bitey game......

You can just see in this picture the puffy gullet on Chinky, it was caused by a rouge Donkey stallion, about a year ago. Interestingly, both ponies have been really going for the throat in the "bitey bitey game", I now understand why Chinky takes this game more seriously than most.
He has certainly had Nelson by the throat. They have settled down though.
